Our Story

Here in Svarga, we strive for the best and everything is carefully thought of, including our design and architecture. Every spot in our resort is inspired by Lombok, the natural scene, the people, the culture and so forth. The landscape of Lombok consists of three main elements: sea, land, and mountain. Meanwhile, Svarga is situated in a unique contour that enables our architect and design team to incorporate the idea of experiencing Lombok inside the resort, categorized into those three elements. The front area was the sea, which invites people to come into Lombok, as we hope Svarga will. The central area, which contains most of our rooms and suites, is resembling the land where the daily life and culture of Sasak people happens. The upper part is resembling the Rinjani Mountain, which holds numerous interesting stories that was the source of so many cultural events and beliefs, aside from its mesmerizing beauty. We took inspiration from our extraordinary experiences in Lombok and pour it into the resort, so that you could experience them too…

The Sea Pond

Sea Element

It’s not a sea without the water. The pond is carefully placed so that you pass through it after you get out of the “pearl” lobby, as a resemblance of the sea. Our Dvara lounge nearby is designed with sand and beach elements for the same reason.

The Pearl

Sea Element

The shape of our lobby is inspired by pearl-producing shells, which is one of Lombok best natural resources from the sea. The shape differs from the rest of our resort, following the initial shape of the shell and the globe-shaped lamp represents the sparkling pearl itself.

Gendang Beleq Sculpture

Land Element

The statue that stands in the centre of the svarga resort, symbolises the icon of the traditional musical instrument of the Sasak people, Gendang Beleq.

Gendang Beleq is the name of a set of traditional Sasak musical instruments, because its size is large compared to the size of a drum in general. Gendang means drum and beleq means big. There are two types of large drums (Gendang Beleq) called gendang mama (male) and gendang nina (female).

The water flowing through the statue is the embodiment of the beating drum that flows throughout the resort.

Peresean Wall

Land Element

Two gigantic wall in-between our villas are inspired by the shield used in Lombok’s traditional ritual, Peresean. Peresean is one of the traditional art fight as a symbol of manhood of Sasak young men. Now, you can still experience the rush of adrenalines watching Peresean at most festivals in Lombok.

Peresean is a battle between two men armed with rattan sticks and thick, hard buffalo hide shields.

Staircase To Heaven

Mountain Element

Stairs are a strong symbol of transistion, change, transformation and growing wiser– leading our minds to a new, different and hopefully higher level. Stairs have been used, even in ancient cultures, as a symbol of going from one level of being to the next level- one step at a time.

Kamana Pool

Mountain Elements

As mentioned before, the higher area of Svarga is inspired by Rinjani Mountain and its story. The crater of Rinjani, Segara Anak, in the reason why we place our main pool so high. We hope as you dine and relax here, you will feel the same ambience as the extraordinary view is just as amazing.
